CEO
Katie has brought a unique and effective leadership style to the veterinary profession. As a ‘blue-collar’ CEO, she worked her way from a career as a licensed veterinary technician into her executive roles. As the CEO of CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets, she grew a six doctor organization into the world’s largest veterinary cardiology practice, renowned for their culture and reputation in the industry. Her passion is creating exceptional and sustainable work environments where employees have the opportunity for personal development and strive toward continued improvement of the organization.
Katie also enjoys mentoring other leaders in and out of the veterinary field in order to help others find fulfillment in their careers and optimize the performance and culture of their own businesses. She co-founded Stafford Brooks Consulting in November of 2020 and Partner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center in 2021 with the goal of revolutionizing employee experience in veterinary medicine. Katie lives in Leesburg, VA with her husband and biggest champion Daniel along with their blended family of five children and two yellow Labradors, Bronn and Ozzy.

Megan Brashear, BS, RVT, VTS (ECC) graduated in 2000 with a BS in Animal Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Technology. In 2004 she achieved the Veterinary Technician Specialty in Emergency and Critical Care. Megan is the Senior Manager of Veterinary Nursing at the Purdue Veterinary Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana where she combines her passions for teaching, hands-on patient care, and team management.
Megan was named the PetPlan Veterinary Technician of the year in 2014, won Best Technician Case Report at both the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium and the North American Veterinary Conference, was awarded the VMX Technician Speaker of the Year in 2017 and 2018 and the Western Veterinary Conference Educator of the Year in 2019. She has published veterinary technician and nursing articles in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Ashli R. Selke is an Instructional Technologist for the Veterinary Nursing Distance Learning (VNDL) program at Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine. She brings a breadth of knowledge to the table and experience from working in multiple locations throughout the country while being a military spouse and NAVY Veteran herself. Her passion is advocating for veterinary nurses and furthering the profession. She sits on multiple state and national committees as well as being the (NAVTA) National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America sitting President. She believes the only way to obtain meaningful change for the profession is to be involved and advocate.
